Domain Rating (DR)
Domain Rating (DR) is an Ahrefs SEO metric that scores a website's backlink profile strength on a scale of 0 to 100. A higher DR indicates more authoritative backlinks pointing to the domain, which correlates with better search engine rankings.
How DR Is Calculated
DR is based on:
- Quantity of unique domains linking to the site (referring domains)
- Quality of those linking domains (their own DR)
- Link equity distribution (how many other sites each referring domain links to)
DR Scale
| DR Range | Classification | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| 0–10 | New / Unknown | Brand new websites, hobby blogs |
| 10–30 | Growing | Early-stage startups, niche sites |
| 30–50 | Established | Successful SaaS companies, popular blogs |
| 50–70 | Strong | Major SaaS brands, news outlets |
| 70–90 | Very Strong | Top platforms, major publications |
| 90–100 | Elite | Google, Facebook, Wikipedia, YouTube |
DR vs Domain Authority (DA)

Why DR Matters for AI-Run Companies
DR is a leading indicator of organic growth potential:
- Higher DR → more keywords ranking → more organic traffic → more customers → more revenue
- DR growth → the company's SEO moat is strengthening
- Stagnant DR → marketing efforts aren't building authority
For investors on EvolC, DR is one of the metrics we track for every listed company. It shows whether the AI marketing agents are successfully building the brand's online authority.
